Who am I

A picture of my face, taken on top of a carpark in Loughborough.

I am Jim Keane, I currently work for Jisc as the Principal Technical Consultant – Data, though I also still lead on wellbeing analytics carrying on from my role as Senior analytics consultant – wellbeing. In between these two roles I took leadership of the Data engineering team as the Data engineering solutions manager.

I support the delivery and development of student engagement analytics into educational organisations from pre-sales to deployment and help maintain customer relations. I also use my experience of working in student facing services to provide advice and guidance on using analytics for wellbeing.

I live just outside Hull, where I came to do my undergraduate degree in Theology in 1999 and found a home for myself and eventually my family.

I worked for the University of Hull on a part-time basis during my degree and held a number of full-time roles their since 2002 (Assistive Technology Technician, Business and Systems Analyst, Project Manager) and was also a Halls of Residence Warden for 16 years until the University mothballed the last of its traditionally managed stock in 2019.

I left the University of Hull two years after we moved out of the Halls of residence at the Lawns and I have worked at Jisc since November 2021.
